Two lines

Commercial plywood and LVL.

Both lines are pressed in Ha Hoa from plantation-grown veneer. Plywood crosses its layers for a flat, stable sheet; LVL runs every veneer the same way for long, straight strength.

Face veneers

Three faces we are known for.

Plywood takes its name from its face. Okoume, Bintangor and Pine run as signature production at Truc Mai; Poplar, engineered veneer and other faces are available on request.

Cores

Plantation woods inside every panel.

Cores are peeled from plantation trees grown around Phu Tho. The core decides weight, stiffness and how the panel machines, so choose it for the job.

  • Styrax

White, light and even. The furniture core: clean edges, low weight per sheet and more cubic metres per container.

  • Acacia

Firm and stable at a mid weight. A dependable core for commercial plywood and film-faced panels.

  • Eucalyptus

Dense and stiff. Chosen where screw holding and load matter more than weight.

  • Combined

Species laid together to balance price, weight and strength for the order.

How a panel is built

Seven steps from log to packed crate.

Quality in plywood is made in the grading and the pressing. This is the order every Truc Mai panel follows.

  1. 01

    Specification agreed

Face, core, grade, glue, size, thickness and packing are fixed in writing before production.

  2. 02

    Veneer peeled and dried

Plantation logs are rotary-peeled into continuous core veneer and dried to a stable moisture content.

  3. 03

    Veneer graded

Core sheets are sorted by grade so each panel gets the core its specification calls for.

  4. 04

    Core laid and stitched

Cross-laid layers are assembled and, for furniture plywood, stitched on the outer layers so the core stays closed.

  5. 05

    Pressed twice

A cold pre-press sets the core, a hot press bonds it; the face goes on and is pressed again for a flat, smooth sheet.

  6. 06

    Sanded and trimmed

Panels are calibrated, sanded to the agreed finish and trimmed square to size.

  7. 07

    Checked and packed

Thickness, face and squareness are checked sheet by sheet before strapping into export crates.

Where the wood comes from

Grown on the hills around the mill.

Ha Hoa sits among plantation forest in the midlands of Phu Tho. Core logs travel a short distance from planting to peeling, which keeps the cost of a good core down and the supply steady through the year.
